Jean Shrimpton is nonplussed. She has just discovered that Karen Gillan, of Doctor Who fame, is to play her in a forthcoming BBC4 drama about her love affair with photographer David Bailey. Filming of We’ll Take Manhattan, which reprises a heady Vogue photoshoot in 1962, is due to start next month, but the world’s first supermodel could hardly be less interested.

But I find Asian girls very beautiful and sophisticated. I don’t get amused by those massive makeups that japanese girls usually put on their faces and stupidly huge fake eyelashes.

Fashion photographer William Klein is one of my favorite photographers. He was originally a painter, but soon became a photographer in the fashion world during the fifties through his unique and unusual photographic techniques he revolutionized the fashion world.

Klein’s work was considered revolutionary for its “ambivalent and ironic approach to the world of fashion”, its “uncompromising rejection of the then prevailing rules of photography” and for his extensive use of wide angle and telephoto lenses, natural lighting and motion blur. At the time, these techniques were considered too avant-garde for the mainstream and high-brow fashion world. Klein did not only introduce these techniques, he made them the standard.

Klein tends to be cited in photography books along with Robert Frank as among the fathers of street photography, one of those mixed compliments that classifies a man who is hard to classify.

Freja Beha is one of my favorite models as I wrote in my previous post. She inspires me a lot.

Abbey Lee said, ” Freja inspires me as a model. She is so strong and calm even when everything around her is going crazy.”

I think people like Freja can be successful. Insecure people can’t.

I wanna be a strong woman.

I really love supermodels. They are always impassive on catwalks and I can’t feel their humanity, but on backstages, they smile. I really love to see them being natural.

My favorite models: Lara Stone, Freja Beha Erichsen, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Karlie Kloss, Jac and Lindsey Wixson.

I love this ad series of calvin klein, especially this one.

This is the first page of the collection. Tanja was my first model, and she is a really special friend. She helped me during tough times. During the time I took these photos I was extremely depressed and hadn’t eaten or slept in days. I simply gave up on life, I was really lost, hurt, and empty. Tanja took me out that day and we ended up having a amazing day together, she really cheered me up. I arrived a bit late and we met up and took a few photos of the sakura. It was a warm day, the sun was bright, and people were smiling, I remember watching the sakura petals flutter around the air while I was enjoying some karage and fried potato under the trees. It was amazing. Later on the day we met up so many people. ill tell you more about it on my next post, I hope you enjoy this one and look forward to the next picture :) Den　[click on the picture to see it in detail]

Hi, it’s Den.

This is my first actual post. Lately I have put down my digital camera and am taking most of my photos with a analog Canon FTb. I have also been reading a book on analog photography I borrowed from my new mentor, a great photographer here in Brazil SdV. I decided to post up a teaser for my next post which will contain the photos taken during my first photoshoot “attempt” in late March with my beautiful Persian/Swede artist and friend, Tanja Zamani.

My first post is my first photoshoot with Saori, my friend.
I was so surprised by how hard taking pictures of people was and decided to practice more at this time.

I took a million but here are my favorite ones.
